Giving through Finance

“For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you” ~ 1 Chronicles 29:14

The Church, like most every institution in this world, requires money to function. The staff must be compensated, the bills must be paid, and the building must be safe for all who use it. We ask that you remember St. Peter’s in your regular offerings and pledges as well your final will and testament. All we have is a gift from God, and it is up to us to use it to share the gospel of his hope and love.

Giving through Presence

“But every Lord’s day gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. But let no one that is at variance with his fellow come together with you, until they are reconciled, that your sacrifice may not be profaned. For this is that which was spoken by the Lord: In every place and time offer to me a pure sacrifice; for I am a great King, says the Lord, and my name is wonderful among the nations.” ~ Didache, ch 14

Even in the Didache, one of the oldest non-scriptural collections of teachings on the Christian life, calls us to gather together in community. It is only by our presence do we share the presence of God with each other and are we able to be truly reconciled one to another.

Giving through Service

“Let the greatest among you become as the least, and the leader as one who serves.” ~ Luke 22:26

From the very beginning the Church, the ecclesia, was a community of volunteers. They shared all things and worked for the common good. There are so many ways you can live into servanthood with the community of St. Peter’s.
